IN an effort to support PURE MICHIGAN ... I have been collecting
information on QUILT RETREATS located here in MICHIGAN. My dream is to be able to attend one of these
retreats. I got hooked on retreats
attending the one SEW CRAZY sponsored earlier this year in January. I had so much fun and got so much sewing accomplished.
This is the information I have accumulated this far. If you know of any I do not have listed
please let me know so I can add it to the list.
I am posting basic contact information ... it is up to the individual to
contact the event and find out about cost, fees and accommodations. I will try to add some of the information as
I expand the list but I think this is the individual quilters responsibility to
verify and make their own arrangements.

It is an 1894 Victorian which sleeps 12 with a fully stocked kitchen and a main floor bedroom and bathroom. The sewing room sits 12 with 2 cutting table, 2 iron stations and 2 design walls.Check us out!

My sister, Pat Holly and I are excited to introduce the 1st annual Holly Girls Quilt Retreats in 2014! The retreats will be held at the lovely 100 year old White Birch Lodge. Nestled in the woods along the shores of Elk Lake, you will be right in the heart of Northern Michigan's resort area. The town of Elk Rapids is a charming small town with nice restaurants and shopping. The topic for our first year will be “Quilting the Quilt”!
We are excited to continue the tradition our good friend Gwen Marston started with her Beaver Island Quilt Retreats 30 years ago. We will keep the format and spirit of the retreats, adding our own touches based on our experience and expertise. Pat and I have been to the 2013 Beaver Island Quilt Retreats to introduce ourselves and take registrations from those attending this year.

Rose Villa Retreat has a great room equipped with full 5-foot sturdy
tables, ample lighting, power strips, and comfortable chairs for each
hobbyist. For quilters, we have a cutting table, design board, 2’x5’
pressing board, and 2 irons. Scrapbookers will have full use of
scrapbooking tools. We also have a television, DVD player, large supply
of movies, and cozy seating. 10 miles from Elaine's too and not far from Country Stitches.

This home was originally owned by rock and roll legend BOB SEGER . It changed owners several time until purchased by Bill and Dottie Dettlinger. They have updated and renovated the home. Dottie has decorated each room with it's own theme and special touches. The bright, airy work areas are a perfect place to begin a new project or get back on track with an "old friend".
The beautiful outdoor setting offers hiking trails and a large swimming pool surrounded by a lovely deck area for relaxing. Or perhaps you prefer a leisurely walk through 10 acres of private woods. The Metamora area includes a variety of dining out establishments, shopping and several quilt shops!!
