BLOTTO was a huge success for the August meeting. We had 60 block entries.
Same rules for September BLOTTO .... 3 chances to win, one chance for each block submitted. Winner takes ALL.
When you turn in your blocks be sure to check in on the sign in sheet. It will be on the table where we will place our blocks.
This helps to let the coordinator know who turned in their blocks.
Please label you blocks with your name ... it speed up the sorting.

While sewing up your framed charmed squares... cut extra "I- Spy" 6.5 inch blocks for the charmed square exchange.

Center Block ... fussy cut a kid friendly novelty print
Block should measure 6.5 inches square.
Themes not limited to the following, these are just suggestions:
Trains, tractors, cars, cute animals, ladybugs, fish, sports, cute flowers, robots, dinosaurs, butterflies, fruits, vegetables, food, stars, moon, spaceships ... fabric appropriate to young children.
"I" spy fabric often has a good size design that can be centered in the square. Multiple motifs scattered across the patch work well too.
Sides :
Color: Tone on Tone or Medium to Dark Solid
Boarder Strips: 2.5 inches x 6.5 inches ... sew to the side of the center block.
Top and Bottom: 2.5 inches x 10.5 inches
WORD of WARNING... be sure to sew scant to get the correct size block !

Octobers blotto block will be the fused car block. Lillian will have pre-cut fused fabric applique patches to make the block that can be purchased for $1.00. Pattern / templates for the block will be available so that you can use fabric from your stash. Patterns are free for members. Any other instructions will be given next month.
