NEXT MEETING is July 26, 2017
Speakers: Virginia Anderson and April Yorks Trunk Show
Dinner at Lucky's before the meeting at 4pm
Virginia and April have been long time members of this guild and are known by many of us. Virginia and April are a founding member of the guild along with Audrey Derscha. She also was friends with Mary Schafer and they use to get together often to sew. Virginia said they started quilting in 1976 to honor the bicentennial. She makes all kinds of quilts by hand and machine but applique is her favorite.
They have traveled extensively and took classes from many national teachers, she mentioned Anita Shackelford and Pat Campbell but said there were too many to list. Virginia currently sews several times a month in a hand stitching group thru Genesse Stars. They are very knowledgeable and Virginia is a quilt appraiser. She owns over 200 quilts in her collection.
They will be bringing two large suitcases of quilts from Virginia's collections of quilts, and the quilts she made based on her collection. (We are going to need a lot of holders for this meeting, they will have the delight of close up examination of the quilts.)
I saw Virginia’s quilts at the Genesee Star day guild and we are in for a treat.
